Hopscotch-Programming for kids App Reviews

Can you make a block that activates turbo mode- sets the wait times in between blocks to 0? It would make the app run a lot faster and loading times for peoples games a lot less.

Its an amazing game but it just has one little bug that started on that one Sunday that you fixed all the bugs it made it so you can search any hopscotches anymore again one of my top 10 games

Yes... THIS APP IS AWESOME!! I have some important suggestions though. Everyone on hopscotch is just begging for a follower count and I cant blame them IT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! Also... The game would be so cool if you could somehow design your own characters or make drawing trails move!!! Thank keep up the good work! Also if Hopscotch isnt working its probably because you have slow wifi.

Ok I loved this coding app at first, but then after the stupid tutorials that dont really teach you anything, you have to pay for the good tutorials. And also when you are starting the "basics" it only gives you like 5 really stupid lessons on "starting", but if you want to pay $8 a month you go ahead.

This app is great for making games.

Update: The blinking block in the last update is such a great and clarifying visual. Hopscotch is the cutting edge of block programming! I have used this app at my programming school for 2 years now. The developers keep improving it with timely updates. It runs smoothly on iPad and iPhone unlike other alternatives that use JavaScript in a web browser. It allows the students to share with each other easily, and they can also publish to web to show off their latest projects to their parents. It takes full advantage of all of the iPads sensors such as the microphone and accelerometer. Stylistically it beats out everything else, and makes Scratch look like a beta version from 1998. I recommend any educator to give it a try in your class since it is free. Note: there is a subscription option which allows for using your own photos to make sprites and such.

Programming with hopscotch is so fun. Im obsessed! And now I can use self, so it just got 100000x better.

Hi I just popped on to say these new updates have been awesome! If you havent updated do it now! If you havent got on hopscotch get on it now! The animations make the editor feel so smooth and wonderful! Now instead of your characters and code blocks just popping in the screen, they float into place from the keyboard. I like it a lot! The new self blocks for variables make it possible to do really interesting things with clones. I recommend checking it out! It makes it possible to make stuff that make people go ooo and aaa in just a few minutes. Play around with it longer, and the possibilities are endless! Oh endless!! In old hopscotch you can only make 512 clones but now you can make 4096 clones with no lag on your phone!!!

Ive been using Hopscotch for over a year now, and I personally find it engaging and fun! Its a wonderful beginners platform, but I would recommend it to even seasoned coders. Its helped me with a lot of things- not just coding! The community is wadm and accepting and Ive made friends. Hopscptch is truly a vibrant app.

This is a grate game but you have to subscribe to do some tutorials, plz fix this!

This is pretty fun, but, it is very frustrating. It is so sensitive that when you are assembling the code if you try to scroll it can just grab and delete things. Its pointless to spend so much time creating stuff if it gets deleted without warning. Please add a feature to question items being deleted.

This app is so cool and helps me learn a lot, but one problem is that the video thing that tells me how to do things keeps getting in the way but other then that, the app is amazing! And I would recommend this app to people who like making games!

Wish I didnt update. The new interface is so confusing. It was perfect the way it was before. I honestly cant make any new games anymore because I cant find where anything is and because the variables are so messed up. Great job, you ruined a perfectly good app.

This app is one of my favorites! But you now have to PAY MONTHLY for the whole app. I cant even watch awesome videos anymore and mom wont let me get a membership. So. If you want a great coding app, click download. But you wont get all of it.
